Dave Black has worked with many artists from a wide range of musical genres including Jazz, Blues, Rock, Country, Bluegrass and Folk. He has worked with various notables including Richard 'Groove' Holmes, Bucky Pizzerelli, Eric Marianthal, David Liebman, Fareed Haque, Little Anthony & The Imperials and The Drifters. Plus, Dave keeps himself busy working as a freelancer in the St. Louis area, performing and recording with many local artists.

In 1997 the St. Louis jazz quartet, BRILLIANT CORNERS of which Dave is a co-founder, released their CD Two Roads (MaxJazz) which included some of Dave's own compositions. Then, in 2000 Dave released his own CD Alone & Together (Wildstone Audio) which mainly showcased his skill as a solo guitarist. His following release Destinations (Wildstone Audio) released in 2006 features entirely his own original compositions that range in style from Jazz, Funk, Fusion to Samba, Tango to even Celtic. Most recently in 2016, Dave collaborated with vocalist Joe Mancuso (Mancuso Records) on their CD titled Just the Two of Us which demonstrates their unique and eclectic sound as an in-demand duo.

Along with the earlier mentioned projects, Dave keeps himself busy performing and recording with other artists around the area such as latin-pop singer/songwriter Javier Mendoza-HOBO CANE, vocalist/flutist Margaret Bianchetta, jazz crooner Joe Mancuso (voted best male vocalist in the RFT Polls - 2013), country-folk singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Ryan Spearman, violinist / St. Louis Symphony member Asako Kuboki and jazz saxophonist Paul DeMarinis. Plus, Dave is a member of Bridge whcih is a chamber string quartet that performs in a broad range of styles including jazz, classical, brazilian, gypsy and tango. Then just recently, Dave became a member of Bach To The Future, an electric fusion ensemble that combines classical with progressive rock and jazz...often featuring saxophonist Eric Marienthal of Chick Corea‘s Electric Band.
